It is once again November, marked by fashion highlights, namely Mercedes Benz Fashion Days Zurich (MBFDZ)! I attended this event last year and was excited to go again this fall.
I enjoy fashion shows, and to tell the truth, I had no idea that the fashion industry, along with the designers, shows and events that accompany it, had such a presence in Switzerland! I was even more excited to find out that there are additional fashion shows throughout the year, mostly in Zurich of course.
I wasn’t able to attend all four days of MBFDZ, but I still had my fun celebrating style and fashion during one afternoon and one evening event.
This year, from the 12th through the 15th of November, more than 25 of Swiss (like Van Bery, Aziza Zina, LBD Little Black Dress and Julian Zigerli) and international designers had the chance to present their collections in front of more than 5,000 visitors. The highlights of this year’s MBFDZ were Max Mara, star designer JC de Castelbajac, and Costume National.
I first went to the show room of H&M Studio to preview the ladies and menswear SS15 collections. The showroom was hosted in the conference hall of the restaurant and bar “Clouds” in Prime Tower. I like this location a lot; the view there is amazing both during the day and in the evening, and I am in love with their desserts! The collections were very colorful, light and airy, a bit hippie, and were inspired by Miami and Palm Springs, hence the pink flamingos, palm, and cactus prints on some pieces.
My second portion of fashion was the Italian Night of MBFDZ, where such designers as Costume National, Diliborio, Studiopretzel and Vivetta presented their 2015 spring/summer collections on the runway in the Schiffbau building, where all the runway shows took place. I enjoyed the show very much! I liked the atmosphere, the music, the lovely outfits presented by Swiss and international models, and the overall show itself. Most of all, I liked the collection of Costume National. The classy style definitely attracts me a lot since I love timeless outfits. I even had the pleasure of expressing my admiration to the founder and Creative Director of this fashion house –Ennino Capasa!
The event was definitely Swiss Glam-approved, and I would definitely recommend this event for those who crave some fashion during the grey fall days.
