WOMEN: New Portraits Annie Leibovitz

It was a great pleasure to meet the legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz in Zurich! I attended the preview of the exhibition WOMEN: New Portraits, a series of photographs by Annie commissioned by the Swiss bank UBS.

Martin Blessing, President of Personal & Corporate Banking and President of UBS Switzerland was there to greet Annie and express his gratitude for her passionate involvement in the project. Hosted by the photographer herself, the event gave us intimate access into Annie’s exploration of the evolution of women’s role in society with never-before-seen footage.

First presented in London in January 2016, the exhibition has visited 9 cities and the presentation in Zurich is the final stop of its 10 city global tour, with already more than 15 000 participants. The Women: New Portraits exhibition has grown from city to city with accompanying learning and public programs supported by UBS in collaboration with cultural organizations around the world.
I enjoyed Annie’s presence and respect her attitude in taking pictures of women beyond any stereotypes, gender, or roles people play every day. The portraits are amazing, they tell stories and share challenges women face. Be sure to step by and see the depicted women through Annie’s eyes.
