Let me share with you a luxurious shopping experience I have every now and then at Outletcity Metzingen in Germany, just a couple hours away from Switzerland.
The flagship outlets are located in one great shopping vicinity landscaped with trees and benches and surrounded by cafes and restaurants. There you will find premium brands like Armani, Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Burberry, Jimmy Choo, Dolce & Gabbana, Moncler, Tod’s, Etro, Prada (loved the design of the store that was inspired by the original Prada “little black box”), Bally and all-time favourites such as Coach, Tory Burch, Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, Levi’s, Diesel, Nike and many more.
Metzingen used to be the centre of textile industry in the past and is also the hometown of Hugo Boss, the selection of which is unbeatable.
The exclusivity and uniqueness of the Metzingen outlet also lies in the product selection offered in the stores. The Jimmy Choo store for instance is 400 sq. m in size and offers both men’s and women’s shoes and accessories. I was pleasantly surprised to discover Roger Vivier at the Tod’s store. This extravagant and luxurious brand is rarely found in outlets! The collections presented in the stores are quite recent; during my last visit I found some Bally summer collection pieces in September (and fell in love with their Swiss bag packs).
Great selections, size availability and discounts of up to 70% make the shopping process at Metzingen smooth and pleasant. More good news is that permanent residents of Switzerland can benefit from VAT refunds on their purchases from the outlet stores.
