In October I visited “Art International Zurich”, a contemporary art fair in Zurich. It took place over the period of 4 days in Congress Hall (Kongress Haus), right in the city center. It was the 16th annual fair, and I attended for the first time. This is a yearly event, so I would definitely recommend it to everyone who lives in Zurich or nearby. The art fair will be held again next year from the 15th to the 18th of October, 2015
A wide range of artworks were exhibited, including paintings, graphics, sculpture and photography. It was also possible to have a chat with the artists and take some booklets and flyers. One could buy art pieces as well, and I would say I saw some reasonable prices!
I enjoyed trying to come up with my own meaning for the pieces as I looked at some modern art works, the photography and the sculptures, especially the colorful and extraordinary ones. I was also fond of imagining some art pieces in my apartment (or in my dream apartmentJ), where they could perhaps acquire additional meaning.
There were international artists at the exhibition from all parts of the world, and I was happy to see many Russian and Swiss artists.
The works of colorful 3D pop art by Charles Fazzino, certainly caught my eye — I loved his 3D pictures of Switzerland and New York! It’s amazing how much work and patience is required to create something like this!
I also loved the 3D golden (24 carat) pieces by Stoller Relief, which capture the Swiss mountains in all their beauty.
It is unbelievable how creative people can be, and it was a great pleasure to have had the chance to admire and be inspired by their art at the “Art International Zurich” fair.
