DESCRIPTION:This year ZFF and Tonhalle-Gesellschaft Zürich AG are organizing the International Film Music Competition for the tenth time. As part of the “Cinema in Concert” gala on September 29 at the Tonhalle Zurich\, the compositions of the three finalists will be premiered by the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich. The jury\, led by film composer and Oscar winner Rachel Portman\, will select the winning composition on the same evening. During the gala\, Portman herself will be honored with the ZFF Career Achievement Award.

The perfect setting to present this year’s European Cultural Awards in one of Europe’s most beautiful concert halls.\nOn stage\, alongside the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich under the baton of its Music Director Paavo Järvi\, will be world-class artists such as star violinist Nigel Kennedy\, bass-baritone Sir Bryn Terfel\, cellist Sol Gabetta\, soprano Camilla Nylund\, actors Claudia Cardinale\, Iris Berben and Mario Adorf\, pop duo Yello and rock band Die Toten Hosen\, who will be performing together with the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich for the first time. \nPresenter Max Moor\, SFR director Nathalie Wappler\, Fair Fashion ambassador Barbara Meier and the director of the Zurich Opera House\, Andreas Homoki\, have confirmed their attendance as presenters. The gala will be hosted by Swiss TV presenter Sandra Studer and culture columnist Axel Brüggemann. \n
