DESCRIPTION:Introducing a new theatrical production “Cactus”\, which first premiered in Paris and is starring the gorgeous Renata Litvinova who also wrote the script and directed the play. The famous singer Zemfira wrote the soundrack for “Cactus”. \n“Cactus”is a love story with a timeless plot\, perhaps taking place today\, or at a point of the past – future continuum… A radio anchor talks about a war starting\, about riots\, droughts\, explosions – while a woman is packing a suitcase leaving to join her loved one. She’s waiting for a call\, but he doesn’t call for a day\, two\, three … Has he left her? No\, it’s impossible to leave someone like her\, a wizard who can fly\, who can heal… And how can she love! Due the power of her love\, miracles begin to happen. A pigeon who has flown to the windowsill becomes humanized and starts to speak\, a cactus in a pot turns into a man who comes literally out of the ground walking on its roots and confesses his love to her. It is up to the viewer/reader to decide whether she’s a wizard or a mad woman. But her whole monologue is a spell of an obsessed woman in the name of love and the loved one whom she must wait for…. \nThe costumes for the play were made by Demna\, the creative director of Balenciaga. \n*The play is in Russian and French\, with French\, Russian and English subtitles.
