The newly opened Restaurant Noir at Hechtplatz in Zurich’s old town is just a few minutes away from Bellevue.
There is one single menu that consists of an appetizer and a main course. The appetizer consists of a radish salad with walnuts and a tasty Dijon mustard sauce. The side dish is some very delicious spinach. The start of the show at the restaurant is surely Swiss entrecote that is served with thin and crispy French fries that in this case justify their literal translation from French: “pommes d’allumettes” (“potatoes matches”). The vegetarian alternative is a homemade spinach quiche that also comes fries.
Beer, wine and coffee are from local companies, as well as the art on the walls. The interior design is chic and features wooden, copper and marble elements. The sophisticated crystal panels and vases from the French house Lalique decorate the rooms.
There is a” walk-in” principle on the ground floor and reservations can be taken for meals on the first floor. The restaurant is open seven days a week till midnight.
