Swissglam and the event agency RussianFever teamed up together to organize the celebration of one of the most popular holidays of Soviet times – Russian Old New Year in a chic environment of the five-star hotel Park Hyatt in Zurich.
On the 15th of January 2020 all dressed up we gathered in a festive atmosphere of the beautifully decorated ball room of the hotel to celebrate this Russian holiday. Our dinner guests were treated to a mix of the Russian traditional New Year dishes like blinis with black and red caviar, Russian salad “Olivier”, cake “Napoleon” and signature positions from the hotel’s chef Frank Widmer. During the dinner the event’s hosts Sinisha Lazarevich (Moscow) and myself, Darya von Bergen, entertained the guests with giveaways and partners’ greetings. The Russian jazz diva Maria Balak amazed everyone with her magnificent live performance of Russian and international hits. The event partner family owned exclusive watch and jewelry house Gübelin prepared nice gifts for the dinner guests and presented their maison and its values on stage.
After the gala dinner numerous party guests joined the event. A Moët & Chandon bar was opened with a great drinks selection, including their tasty champagne, of course. The show program continued in the form of contests, surprises from the partners and even more live music as well as a disco on the dance floor under the DJ tunes by Moscow DJ Mila Fresca.
Around 230 guests, photographers, lots of champagne, live and DJ music, holiday glitter, mix of Russian speaking, expat and Swiss audience, contests, lottery, delicious food and lots of fun made the celebration bright, exciting and full of joy, just what one needs to meet 2020!
We are endlessly grateful for the support of the Old Russian New Year Party to our event partners:
Zurich based boutique Designer Am See (I was wearing a fringed sequinned dress from the Faith Connexion), Ochsner Balloons and Svetlana Podiriakova for the venue decoration, Luxury Cosmetology Zurich for the hair and makeup of the event organizers and of course Park Hyatt Zurich and Moët & Chandon.
