Opening in autumn 2025, Huus Quell is set to become one of Switzerland’s highly captivating new wellness retreats. Nestled in the tranquil Appenzeller hills, the property brings together natural materials, thoughtful architecture, and forward-thinking health concepts in a refined, contemporary setting.
Huus Quell is part of the Appenzeller Huus Collection, yet it stands as its most ambitious project. Designed as a 5-star superior hotel, it emphasises harmony, purity, and an intimate connection to nature. Its construction relies on sustainable elements such as moon-phase harvested timber, clay, and stone, creating a warm and grounding atmosphere throughout. The hotel’s own natural spring inspired the name “Quell”, shaping both the philosophy and the sensory experience of the place.
The hotel features 30 harmoniously designed rooms and suites, each infused with natural textures, warm colours, and soft lighting. Large windows frame the surrounding mountains, allowing the Alpine scenery to become part of the interior. The result is a restful environment that encourages deep sleep, quiet mornings, and a genuine sense of retreat.
At the heart of the property lies the Quell Spa, a sanctuary dedicated to regeneration and long-lasting wellbeing. The spa combines restorative spaces with advanced diagnostics and innovative treatments, positioning Huus Quell at the forefront of modern wellness hospitality. The signature highlight is the L3 – Long Lasting Lifestyle Circle, a unique European wellness concept combining five advanced stations — from infrared therapy and cryotherapy at –110°C to hyperbaric oxygen, the FLOW lymphatic system, and precise body diagnostics. The gastronomic direction of Huus Quell is led by Executive Chef Carsten Kypke, whose international culinary journey shapes a refined and nuanced dining philosophy.
