Every year on the last Sunday evening in November, Santa arrives in the city of Zurich. Following the Märlitram, beautifully decorated wagons and many Santas and “Schmutzli” distribute small gifts to children along the way.
The route leads from Werdmühleplatz through the festively illuminated Bahnhofstrasse to Bürkliplatz, where two brass bands accompany a short ceremony marking the official start of the Santa season.
