Around 3,500 guild members in their colorful costumes, traditional dress, and uniforms, more than 350 riders, around 50 horse-drawn carriages, and nearly 30 marching bands parade along Bahnhofstrasse and Limmatquai on Sechseläuten Monday toward Sechseläutenplatz, where the burning of the Böögg takes place.
The procession to the bonfire is a spectacular large-scale event that attracts tens of thousands of spectators to the city of Zurich each year, as well as hundreds of thousands more watching on television.
