Art On Ice 2026 – 30th Anniversary

Thirty years of Art on Ice – and the anniversary edition proved once again why this iconic production remains one of Switzerland’s most powerful live experiences. Under the motto “Against all Odds”, the 2026 show at Zurich’s Hallenstadion delivered an evening filled with goosebumps, celebration, and deeply moving moments that carried the audience from silent reflection to full-scale party energy.

World-class figure skating met international music stars and contemporary art in a seamless, emotionally charged production. Headlining the ice was Ilia Malinin, known globally as the “Quad God,” who performed exclusively in Zurich. His technical brilliance and expressive choreography captivated fans who had travelled from around the world. Elladj Baldé created another unforgettable highlight, performing to “Oceans” by Stefanie Heinzmann – who appeared suspended in the air while singing live, turning the arena into a dreamlike landscape of light and movement.

Madison Chock and Evan Bates, three-time World Champions in ice dance, delivered an intimate and emotional program, while Olympic silver medallists Anastasiia Metelkina and Luka Berulava showcased precision and elegance. A particularly touching segment featured Swiss European Champion Lukas Britschgi alongside young talents, addressing the stereotypes young skaters face on their path to success.

Musically, the evening reached new heights. Noah Veraguth marked his solo debut with “I Take It All,” followed by electrifying performances from James Bay, Stefanie Heinzmann, Stress, and UK chart-topper Jess Glynne – transforming the Hallenstadion into a vibrant celebration.

Visually, the show was elevated by the colourful pop-art universe of Romero Britto, who designed the anniversary logo and a spectacular stage concept that blended optimism, movement, and artistic energy.

More than a skating gala, Art on Ice remains a cultural phenomenon – merging sport, music, and art into one unforgettable spectacle. And after 30 years, it continues to prove that even against all odds, dreams on ice shine brighter than ever.
