A Shakespearean Fantasy Through Dance
Under the direction of Cathy Marston, Artistic Director of Ballett Zürich, Shakespeare’s enchanting tale of love, jealousy and mistaken identities unfolds through expressive choreography and imaginative storytelling.
Set in a magical world inhabited by fairies, lovers and mischievous spirits, the ballet follows the romantic confusion caused by the playful Puck and the fairy rulers Oberon and Titania.
Marston, internationally recognised for transforming literary classics into compelling dance productions, offers a fresh perspective on Shakespeare’s timeless story.
Classical Music & Contemporary Sounds
One of the production’s distinctive elements is its musical combination of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy’s celebrated compositions and contemporary music by Gabriel Prokofiev.
The creative team includes award-winning stage and costume designer Richard Hudson, whose imaginative visual world complements the choreography. Live DJ Mr Switch adds another contemporary dimension to the performance.
With its expressive dancing, theatrical atmosphere and playful storytelling, A Midsummer Night’s Dream offers an engaging cultural experience for ballet enthusiasts and newcomers alike.
