Polo Club Ascona was founded in December 2009 by Margit Sauer, Marco Styger, and Uwe Zimmermann. As the only polo club in Southern Switzerland, it has played a pioneering role in promoting the sport in Ticino. The first tournament took place in July 2010, marking the beginning of the Ascona Polo Cup. Today, the club continues to grow, welcoming both active players and social members who support its mission to establish polo in the region.
