Hotel Schweizerhof Bern & Spa

Legendary names, extravagant festivals, and an impressive history: the Hotel Schweizerhof Bern & Spa was the first luxury hotel in Bern, with roots stretching back over 160 years. The iconic elevator that George Lazenby (former James Bond) rode in 1969 remains in all its glory, while the list of elite guests includes Ursula Andress, Grace Kelly, Albert Schweitzer, Liz Taylor, Diego Maradona, the Manchester United team, Sir Roger Moore, and Lionel Messi.

From world-famous celebrities to heads of state and leading scientists, this divine five-star establishment is a timeless paradise bursting with grandeur.

Re-opened in 2011, the superior hotel artfully blends grand tradition with a modern flair, elegant design and world-class service.

The Hotel Schweizerhof Bern & Spa boasts 99 stylish rooms and suites, an 800m2 Bel Etage with 11 salons and meeting spaces. These include the Salon Trianon, a legendary ballroom; Jack’s Brasserie, a modern Lobby-Lounge-Bar; the sophisticated Cigar Lounge; the Spa, with 500m2 of luxurious wellness facilities; and the unique Sky Terrace.

Exquisitely designed and decorated, the hotel’s suites exude a subtle mix of French charm and English understatement. Soft lighting from classic restored chandeliers gives the elegant bathrooms a harmonious atmosphere, equipped with rain showers and Japanese bathtubs for the complete wellness experience. The rest of the room is warm and inviting, with a gentle taupe colour scheme and stylish herringbone oak floors.

The Cigar Lounge is perfect for style-conscious aficionados, offering 450 different wines, numerous whiskies and rums, a cornucopia of cocktails, and an extensive selection of high-quality cigars from various provenances.
