Recently I attended the Hublot Polo Gold Cup , that took place in Saanen, a small village near the picturesque and famous town of Gstaad in the Bernese Oberland. This year’s 21st edition of Polo Cup Gstaad saw record crowds in attendance. Some guests enjoyed VIP lunch in a superbly decorated fine dining area – the variety of food was great, we enjoyed it a lot! Kids had fun at the petting zoo, on the bouncy castles and tightrope walking. In between matches the spectators were able to browse the shopping village which featured luxury stands including My Style Bags, Hotspring Spas and the Du Rhone Chocolatier.
The Hublot Polo Gold Cup was opened with a traditional parade through Gstaad, held on Friday. The town was filled with red and gold which flooded the cobbled streets to welcome the new Chinese Team.
Team Hublot, led by their Captain Shilai Liu, owner of the Tang Polo Club in Beijing, was the winner of the Cup. They were competing against Team Polo Friends, new to the tournament this year, Team Banque Eric Sturdza and Team Gstaad Palace.
The Polo Club Gstaad had some very prestigious co-sponsors: GARAGE ZENITH-FERRARI SA, FLY 7, NESPRESSO, DU RHÔNE CHOCOLATIERS, PERRIER-JOUET and others.
Turning our attention to Ferrari, it was fascinating to hear the powerful sound of these cars in the background throughout the matches! We could not resist having a test-drive of the California T HS. It was an incredible experience! The car is very easy to drive and maneuvers very precisely. The instructor, who was a professional racing driver, provided insightful information about the car and its features.
