I had the chance to attend this year’s Miss Switzerland event in Musical Theatre in Basel and was happy to see how the contest was organized, as well as which people and what organizations were involved. I enjoyed the show, which was also streamed live on the Swiss TV channel SAT1. My favorite parts during the show were the figure presentations by the contestants, who all beautifully modeled the Swiss lingerie label, Calida, as well as the evening gown portion with its beautiful pieces from Merry’s Couture. It was also interesting and touching to see the video presentation about the life of former Miss Switzerland, Laetitia Guarino, who commented afterwards on stage on how exciting, challenging and adventurous her year as Miss Switzerland was.
The jury panel consisted of three members: Stefan Regenz, co-chief editor of the Swiss magazine “Schweizer Illustrierte”, Alexandra Maurer, TV moderator, and my favorite Swiss Youtuber and Blogger, Julia Graf. It was so nice to meet Julia and to have a chat with her before the show!
This year, 22-year-old Lauriane Sallin from Fribourg earned the Miss Switzerland 2015 crown! It was 100% public voting.
Thanks to her crown, the life of Lauriane will take on a new meaning. She will be the center of attention and her daily life will include numerous photo shoots, media interviews and events. As ambassador of the Corelina charity foundation, she will take an active part in working with children that suffer from heart disease and will be on the road constantly. Lauriane will earn an annual salary of 120 000 CHF from the Miss Switzerland Organization. Moreover, the new Miss Switzerland will win an assortment of goodies, including makeup products from L’Oréal Paris and hair products from L’Oréal Professional, shoes from the Swiss multibrand shoe chain Pasito, and a luxury Balmain watch. The lucky Laurine will also be provided with a car from BMW.
I am excited to follow Miss Sal
