I attended Zurich’s Street Parade for the third time in my life and really had a lot of fun! This annual event takes place every August in downtown Zurich, right by the lake. Street Parade represents love for house and techno music, peace, tolerance and freedom, and gathers hundreds of thousands people from all over Switzerland and neighboring countries. About 30 decorated trucks, called “Love Mobiles”, with world famous DJs and dancing party people on the, drive around the city and are greeted by the crowd. There are also seven stages with live acts and dancers and DJs located all over the city center’s spacious squares.
This colorful and joyful event is free and is organized by a non-profit association. The downside of this huge city party is the mess left behind on the streets afterwards, but it is always amazing to see how fast everything is cleaned up in such a short period of time.
I would definitely recommend this event for anyone who is eager to experience some Swiss craziness, listen to electronic music and just have fun during the last days of summer.
