Swiss eyewear brand VIU has teamed up with Geneva-based fashion and jewelry designer Sarah Bounab to launch a bold new collaboration that redefines accessories. Introducing THE SARAH BOUNAB — a limited-edition cat-eye sunglass design that unites minimalist eyewear with high-concept, handcrafted jewelry elements.
Launching on May 28 in two elegant tones — black transparent and champagne — the futuristic silhouette is more than a statement piece. It’s an intersection of design, identity, and innovation. Inspired by the sensual movement of chains, the sunglasses feature jewelry-like temples that function as ear piercings, allowing wearers to attach customizable pieces. The result is a modular, couture-inspired look that fuses style and function in one striking form.
The creative synergy between VIU and Sarah Bounab stems from shared values: Swiss craftsmanship, sustainability, and a forward-thinking approach to design. Both brands emphasize transparency and responsible material sourcing. The collection’s 200 handcrafted pieces are produced in Italy using Eastman Acetate Renew, the most sustainable acetate currently available in the industry.
“I’ve always admired VIU for its innovative aesthetic and commitment to quality and transparency,” says Sarah Bounab. “This collaboration has been incredibly enriching. It’s a perfect match of design philosophies and a modern take on Swiss elegance.”
Fabrice Aeberhard, Creative Director of VIU, echoes this sentiment: “When I met Sarah at Mode Suisse, I was captivated by her creative world. We share a passion for merging traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, and THE SARAH BOUNAB brings this vision to life.”
Designed to complement Sarah Bounab’s SS25 collection, the sunglasses embody an expressive, fashion-forward spirit — wearable art for those unafraid to stand out. The collection is available online and at VIU stores across Switzerland.
