7132 5-Star Hotel: A Design Escape in the Swiss Alps

Hidden in the mountain village of Vals, the 7132 Hotel 5s is a discreet luxury retreat surrounded by the dramatic landscape of the Swiss Alps. Architecture, gastronomy and wellness shape the experience, with some of the world’s most celebrated architects contributing to its distinctive identity.

The spacious Spa Deluxe Rooms, designed by Swiss studio Giubbini Architects, offer 60 sqm of space with private terraces, walk-in closets, freestanding bathtubs and showers with steam bath function. On the top floor, three spectacular penthouse suites by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma feature floor-to-ceiling glass fronts framing uninterrupted mountain views.

At the heart of 7132 is its internationally acclaimed thermal bath designed by Peter Zumthor. Constructed from 60,000 slabs of local Vals quartzite, the protected architectural masterpiece is filled with highly mineralized water from the St. Peter spring, creating one of Switzerland’s most unique spa experiences.

Gastronomy is another important part of a stay. At 7132 Red, Executive Chef Matthias Schmidberger focuses on timeless dishes and premium ingredients, with classics such as tableside-flambéed Crêpe Suzette. For a more experimental experience, 7132 Silver is led by young Head Chef Marcel Koolen and his team. Local herbs, mushrooms and berries gathered around Vals are paired with exclusive ingredients sourced from around the world.

For a relaxed lunch, aperitif or Negroni, the 7132 Blue Bar offers cocktails and snacks accompanied by picturesque mountain views.

A particularly memorable summer experience is the 7132 Thermenkino, running from 7 August to 4 September 2026. Peter Zumthor’s thermal baths transform into an atmospheric cinema, where guests can watch a curated selection of films while relaxing directly in the 33°C outdoor pool.

From architecture and thermal wellness to ambitious gastronomy, the five-star 7132 offers a sophisticated reason to escape to one of Switzerland’s most beautiful mountain villages.
