Grandhotel Giessbach

The Grandhotel Giessbach, being one the greatest preserved hotels in Europe fascinates with its charm and amazing views of the famous Giessbach Falls and landscapes of Lake Brienz. The location is just perfect for those who want to have a rest from city life and enjoy the Swiss nature in all its beauty: a forest, mountains, meadows and water.

The  Grand Hotel is located high above Lake Brienz and can be reached by car or (what makes the whole experience even more special) by an old funicular railway built in 1879 from the boat pier Giessbach-See.

In what looks more like a castle than a hotel are 70 rooms and suites that are partially furnished with vintage interior pieces.

It is great to spend time having a glass of wine on the terrace of the restaurant, walking near the multi-level Giessbach waterfall, and just enjoy the charming and romantic atmosphere of the place.
