Heiko Nieder, Culinary Director of The Dolder Grand Hotel, has designed a new food concept for the popular beer garden of the Romantik Seehotel Sonne in Küsnacht. Starting this season, the revised menu of the “Sonne am See” will only feature dishes that the chef, who has been awarded 2 Michelin stars and 19 Gault Millau points, cooks himself for his family and friends and enjoys eating.
The “Sonne am See,” the beer garden of the Romantik Seehotel Sonne Küsnacht, is an institution on Zurich’s Gold Coast. In a cozy atmosphere under cool treetops and located directly on the waterside, the restaurant is a popular meeting place.
In the menu selection, the star chef has paid special attention to dishes for the whole family and vegan options. But of course the well-appreciated classics such as the Küsnacht veal bratwurst from Metzgerei Oberwacht, tarte flambée and fish crispies with homemade tartar sauce are also on the menu.
“I found the request extremely interesting. The challenge of developing new recipes for this traditional beer garden was very appealing to me. After all, this task is fundamentally different from my current responsibilities at the Dolder Grand,” explains Heiko Nieder.
