ARIA Retreat & SPA Lake Lugano, Italy

Tucked away in a private corner of Lake Lugano, the ARIA Retreat & SPA is equally as exclusive. It shares the same grounds as its owner’s original development – the Parco San Marco Hotels & Beach Resorts.

However, expect a more personalized experience at this 5-star establishment – both a retreat from, and the ideal vantage point to enjoy Lake Como and the surroundings.

Taking the resort’s motto, “freedom, light, and air,” to heart, the ARIA Retreat & SPA boasts just a handful of spacious rooms. Its 15 suites – ranging from 72 to 168m² – feature external 3m loggias and full glass windows, which both invite the light in and insulate the suites.

The decor therein is modern yet warm, featuring natural wood, stone, and textiles that add a touch of homeliness. A pet-friendly hotel, other in-room amenities include air conditioning, Wi-Fi, safes, smart toilets, king-size beds, and fully-fitted kitchens – available for use at an extra fee.

At the ARIA, guests are able to enjoy the entire Parco San Marco Hotels & Beach Resorts complex, located on a 23.5 hectare subtropical park – including six restaurants and three bars.

Notably, La Musa Restaurant & Rooftop Terrace, which featured in the Michelin 2023 guide. Serving contemporary Italian cuisine, the food is rivaled only by the restaurant’s panoramic views of Lake Lugano. For all-day dining, guests can head to Dolce Vita Lounge & Terrace, which showcases just as stunning views of the lake.

The Parco San Marco Hotels & Beach Resorts complex is home to many more amenities and facilities. Such as a private beach, a fun pool, an adults-only outdoor training pool, and two spas. The Family SPA San Marco, where children are welcome.

And the adults-only SPA CEò, where guests can enjoy the Snowflake cold cabin, various panoramic view saunas, a Turkish bath, and indoor and outdoor heated pools. Dedicated to the theme of “air, water, and earth,” the spa brings the outside indoors – especially with the saltwater infinity pool, where one feels as if they are suspended between the sky and lake.
