Mövenpick Hotel Basel

Mövenpick continues growing in its home country – in September 2021 the sixth hotel of the ground – Mövenpick Basel – has opened its doors. The sustainably constructed hotel offers an elegant place for rest and relaxation for business travelers and guests of the city. Interior designer Matteo Thun is responsible for the warm and cosy atmosphere in 234 rooms and 30 suites (20 junior suites, nine suites and a presidential suite) with modern comfort and spectacular views. Designed as an elegant state-of-the-art hotel, Mövenpick is perfectly connected as part of the new Baloise Park, directly adjacent to Basel’s SBB train station.

True to the motto “Timeless Modern”, warm colors and natural materials underscore the deliberate style mix of elegant Swiss simplicity and timeless comfort.

The PURO Restaurant

The PURO restaurant with show kitchen combines Latin American specialties with the traditional flavors of Asia and the best regional products in an informal atmosphere. As Executive Chef, Argentinean Pablo Löhle, who has also previously made his mark on the menu at Basel’s Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois, sets new and surprising accents.

On the first floor of the hotel, MP’s Bistro & Bar with outdoor terrace is an ideal meeting place for locals and hotel guests. In a modern-casual ambience, everything from breakfast and seasonally and regionally inspired dishes to sophisticated cocktails and exquisite wines are served here.

Meeting Rooms Offering

As an important business location and venue for internationally significant trade fairs such as Art Basel, the hotel also has a comprehensive business and MICE offering. For example, the state-of-the-art conference center holds a total area of 2,000 square meters, which can be used flexibly. The elegant and divisible ballroom allows festivities with up to 600 guests. Spacious foyers with natural light are perfect for stand-up lunches, coffee breaks and cocktails. The meeting rooms and boardrooms on the second and third floors feature individual design and multifunctionality, combined with an outstanding view of the city.

In addition, Mövenpick Hotel Basel has a luxurious spa and fitness area covering 240 square meters. This includes a sauna, steam bath, experience showers and an exclusive relaxation zone.
