The Pink Ribbon Switzerland Music Gala took place at the end of September 2020 and for its 10th anniversary, the Breast Cancer Gala was held for the first time in the luxurious Dolder Grand Hotel. This year the charity gala was even more exclusive and emotional than ever before. Numerous Swiss stars like Marc Storace, Caroline Chevin, Jesse Ritch and others entertained the guests with a touching concert.
“Zäme simer stercher” (Swiss German: “together we are stronger”), being the motto of Pink Ribbon Switzerland, gained even more importance this year and was manifested again and again at the gala. In the elegant ballroom of “The Dolder Grand” the charming presenter Sven Epiney led us through the evening.
The Pink Ribbon Ambassadors Linda Fäh, Viola Tami, Tiziana Gulino, Jesse Ritch, Caroline Chevin and rock legend Marc Storace enchanted the guests with their songs. From emotional ballads to classics and rock songs like – every single song had a special meaning.
An auction was used to raise money for a breast cancer study that promises patients a gentler treatment. During the show the guests were able to bid for six main prizes, including a personal video call with world star Ronan Keating, a pink sapphire from Bucherer or a Zenith wristwatch studded with pink sapphires. This brought the incredible sum of 95 200 CHF, which was presented as a check to the CEO of the “Swiss Association for Clinical Cancer Research”, Dr. Martin Reist. This will co-finance the breast cancer study VISION I, which will be conducted over the next three years under the direction of Dr. Christoph Tausch, Director of the Zurich Breast Center, to investigate in which cases breast cancer can be treated without surgery.
Over the past years, around 2 million Swiss Francs have been raised for important breast cancer projects and research thanks to the Pink Ribbon Events. The Dolder Grand and Sisley Paris are main partners of the Pink Ribbon Music Gala and the Hirslanden Clinic and the Zurich Breast Center are the official specialist partners of the event.
