La Prairie x Art Basel 2022

In honor of the women of Bauhaus and their mastery of harmony, Swiss luxury skincare company La Prairie presented at Art Basel 2022 The Women Bauhaus Collective, a collection of unique works created by five young female artists.

Selected from the world’s leading art and design schools – Switzerland’s ECAL, the Ecole des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, Central Saint Martins in London, Hong Kng’s Design Institute and The School of Design Institute in Chicago – each of these talented graduates bring a diverse artistic and cultural background as well as an expansive range of mediums to form the Collective

Over the course of the year, the Women Bauhaus Collective participated in an exclusive program at the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation in Germany to explore the origins of the movement while they developed their works under Marcelis’s guidance. At the end of their journey, the artists presented their digital works at Art Basel in June 2022.

Geometric. Precise. Understated. The style of Bauhaus unites craftmanship and art, form and function, in its unique designs. La Prairie infuses its own creations with that same pure aesthetic.

Aspiring to empower the future generation of talents, La Prairie brings the legacy of the women of Bauhaus out into the light with The Women Bauhaus Collective. La Prairie’s latest creation, the Skin Caviar collection, embodies the style of the Bauhaus, merging cutting-edge science with breathtaking aesthetics. The packaging design is a striking cobalt blue glass vial with a pure, minimalist shape that unmistakably evokes the potential for harmony that lies within.
